LDS sample loading buffer, reducing (4X) is used to prepare protein samples for denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis using Bis-Tris and Laemmli gels
- Pre-mixed for convenience
- 4X concentration allows more volume for protein per lane
- Store cold
- Bring sample loading buffer, reducing (4X) to room temperature prior to use
Mixing LDS sample loading buffer with protein samples denatures and reduces the proteins due to lithium dodecyl sulphate and 2-mercaptoethanol content. The buffer’s pH of 8,4 allows for maximum activity of the reducing agent. Glycerol is included in the loading buffer as a density agent to ensure the samples sink into the sample wells, while Coomassie® brilliant blue serves as a tracking dye to monitor the progression of electrophoresis.
